According to the British Dietetic Association, six to eight glasses of water should be consumed daily. However, the water you are drinking should be free from contaminants. Water comprises of almost 70 percent of the body mass. In addition to hydrating the body, it helps detoxification by increasing urine output.

The positive effect of water on your health can be realized only when the water you are consuming is as good as pure water. Unfortunately, the rising incidence of environmental pollution is contaminating the potable water sources of our planet with toxic chemicals. Although stringent environmental protection regulations have reduced the concentration of harmful compounds in the environment, nonetheless, the risk of farm runoffs and industrial and household wastes contaminating the various water sources that feed the public water distribution system cannot be ruled out.

With tap water being the major source of drinking water for overwhelming majority of household, purifying the water before consumption is essential for reducing the risk of water-borne diseases. Hence, water filters are not a luxury, but a necessity for hundreds of thousands of families.

How to select a water filter

With prior knowledge of the effectiveness of common water filtration systems in removing contaminants from water, you can easily select the right water purifier for your home.

Water filtration technology

Water filtration technologies used in different water filters include activated carbon, mechanical filters, ion exchange, reverse osmosis, ultraviolet sterilization, ozone sterilization and water softening. Affordable models usually use active carbon filters that absorb chemicals dissolved in water. It is advisable to use active carbon filter-based water purifiers to improve the taste of water when too much chlorine, byproducts of disinfectants, lead and pesticides are present in tap water. However, active carbon filters are not suitable for eliminating arsenic and organisms from water. Maximum protection is ensured by reverse osmosis water filters. Some sophisticated water purifiers combine high-grade active carbon filters with reverse osmosis to provide superior protection.

Household need

The exact household water needs depend upon the size of the family and the type of contaminants in the tap water. Large families require large pitcher models or on counter water purifiers for filtering water used for drinking and cooking. Faucet-mounted or under-sink water purifiers are suitable for homes that require water filters primarily for purifying drinking water. When water hardness or wide scale water contamination makes tap water unsuitable for domestic use, you will require whole house water filtration system.

The most common wired networks use cables connected at one end to an Ethernet port on the network router and at the other end to a computer or other device. You can find the tutorials to change its password on 192.168.l.l
